Taieri Dairy Farm Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join the BW Dairy Team. Starting November 2022.

We are looking for a fresh Farm Assistant who is keen to learn or an experienced 2IC.

We are an attention-to-detail, high-quality animals kind of farm. We value our team, our animals, our milk and our land. We run a 340-cow, 173ha farm with young stock also on-farm, located on the flat fertile plains of the Taieri near the Dunedin airport. We milk our beauties in a 40-a-side herringbone shed. 2.8FTE plus seasonal staff.
Housing available. Four days off a fortnight, how you take this is negotiable. We live in a great community; 25 mins to Dunedin; 15 mins to Mosgiel; 10 mins to Outram.

You will have:

1 year dairy experience on a similar-sized or smaller farm, not essential
An interest in animal health, pasture management and production
A gentle and patient nature with animals and machinery
Flexibility and openness to different ways of achieving our farm goals
A keenness to learn
A good attitude and work ethic
And you are kind, honest, hard-working, reliable and punctual
