Au Pair Role - Cambridge - Sept 2024

Wright Cambridge, Waikato

Job Description

Hi There, We are a family of 4 (Gemma, Nick, Hugh (5yrs) & Fleur (3.5yrs) and soon to be 5! (We are expecting our third child this Monday 2nd September) *We had an Aupair all organized that has fallen through!

We would love for a loving, nurturing, fun aupair to join our family in September to help out with our daily activities during this very busy time of having a newborn. We live in the Waikato region, New Zealand in a lovely rural setting just 4km from Cambridge. We have a new modern 4 bedroom home with a large garden and swimming pool. We hope to find a new aupair from Mid – September onwards preferably until December, if not longer.

We currently have two adorable children.
One boy (Hugh) who has just turned 5 years old and a daughter (Fleur) who’s 3 and half. Plus our fur child Piper who’s a very friendly golden Labrador & 9 chickens that provide us eggs every day!

Each week can be very different and especially with Gemma busy with a newborn. She will be around each day but obviously really needing an extra pair of hands to help out especially with Hugh and Fleur in the mornings and evenings. Currently Hugh is at daycare 5 days a week and Fleur 3 days.

During these daycare days we’ll need help with getting the kids ready in the morning, then driving them to daycare (7:30-9.30am) Therefore it’s necessary for you to have a valid international drivers license and to be a confident driver. We’ll provide you with your own car and fuel.

Some days you’ll have some free time in the middle of the day to go exploring. But there will be times Gemma may need help with the newborn and odd jobs around the house like washing, light household chores/baking for kids lunches, preparing dinner etc.

In the afternoon, you’ll pick kids up from daycare and maybe visit a park on the way home and then it’s home for dinner, bath, stories and bed… Gemma may need help with the newborn over this time while she does dinner or vis versa you do dinner while she’s busy feeding the baby. After dinner we need your help with the dishes/bathing Hugh and Fleur and getting them ready to go to bed (15:00-19:00).

Your weekend is free, but sometimes we ask you to work for a couple of hours or so with some baby sitting. But we will make sure you have extra time off during the week if this is the case. We invite our aupair to join family activities or weekends away with us, but we are also happy if the aupair has her personal life and wants to head off to explore the country. You will have use of the car for this too.

We like to have open communication and honesty at all times. Nick will also be around to help from time to time and when this is the case you maybe able to extend these free times during the week with day trips away. Nick has his own rural contracting business so some days he’ll be working 12+hrs a day and other days he’ll be in and out and able to help with kids. So as you can tell flexibility is key as we negotiate life with a new baby.

You’ll have your own bedroom with large wardrobe and bathroom in our home. We also have two living spaces so you can have your own space in the evenings if you prefer.

We live on 7 Hectares of land which we currently graze sheep on. Nick has his own contracting business so is often out on dairy farms working. We are just 4kms from Cambridge town and only 1hr to the Westcoast (Raglan beach which is very popular) or 1hr to the Eastcoast (Mount Maunganui which is also a very popular beach). It is also only 1.5hrs North to Auckland city or South to Lake Taupo, where we have a holiday home and spend a lot of time. We love to go boating in Taupo or on Lake Karapiro which is just 10mins away from our home. We unfortunately don’t have any family living close by (both sets of Grandparents are 4+hrs away) so hence looking for some extra help at home for when our 3rd child arrives in September.

If this sounds like you then please get in touch.

We look forward to sharing our home with someone special,
Gemma and Nick ❤️?
