Market Gardener

About the Role
We are looking for a Market Gardener to work in our onsite organic gardens; currently five tunnel greenhouses, outdoor beds, and associated facilities, such as the composting area. 3-month minimum commitment is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Implementing the agreed seasonal planting plan provided by OFNZ management
• Coordinating each stage of the production of crops across the seasons, including:
o Soil Preparation & Fertilisation
o Propagation and transplantation
o Pest & disease control (disease, insects, rodents, birds, predators, etc)
o Harvesting
• Maintaining crop production by cultivating, weeding, de-budding and pruning, and maintaining optimal growing conditions
• Implementing agreed procedures regarding supporting activities, including:
o Traceability standards
o Composting
o Order, cleaning, keeping tidy and ensuring proper use of equipment, materials, tunnel houses and surrounding spaces
o Record keeping
• Maintaining organic standards throughout all aspects of crop production
Requirements
• Minimum 3-month commitment.
• Speaking Mandarin is preferred but not required.
• Role is physically demanding.
• No experience is required, all training will be provided
