First Mates, Last Laugh is centrally located on Westhaven Marina, overlooking the yachts and Auckland city.
Owned and operated by renowned restauranteur Judith Tabron, we have quickly become a local's favourite, with our warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like home and a getaway all at once. Our delicious food, eclectic cocktails and thoughtful beverage selection have been welcomed with rave reviews!
We operate seven days a week, from 11am to late, and we are looking for skilled Front of House Superstars to keep creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Full Time and Part Time Positions available.

While the main responsibility of the roles is to provide exceptional customer experiences and ensuring that the quality of service meets our establishment expectations and standards, this role is much more than that. Wait Staff
- You must have a passion for the hospitality industry.
- 1- 2 years' experience as a section waiter.
- Offering recommendations, taking food and beverage orders, and serving our guests.
- Upselling through the knowledge of our products and creating an engaged and authentic rapport with our guests.
- Confidence managing and maintaining a multiple-table section while following our sequence of service.
- Maintain a high standard of table service, using established food handling and serving techniques.
- Ensure that customers receive efficient and courteous service at all times.
Food & Beverage Runners
- No experience necessary (full training provided), but familiar with hospitality environments is an advantage
- Pick up and deliver food/drink from the pass or bar.
- Ensuring that each item is placed correctly to the table and seating to which the customer has ordered.
- Must be physically fit- this is a demanding role
- Customer focussed with positive attitude
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work competently under pressure
